Everybody we spoke to in shops on buses were friendly and pleasant. The only down side which was nothing to do with the island folk was the amount of litter on the seafront at Brodick, not I suspect from locals but probably mainlanders who dont know what litter bins are for and there are plenty of them on Arran at one stage I thought plastic bottles must grow on trees the amount I removed from bushes and hedges.
